About dateba.se

dateba.se is a date calculator. It counts the days between two dates, adds or subtracts time, and figures out how many workdays fit in a stretch.

It was built because counting days in your head is surprisingly annoying. Is the deadline 14 or 15 days away? Does the sprint end on a Wednesday or a Thursday? How many actual working days are left if you skip weekends and that one random holiday? We built this so you can stop guessing.

There is no account, no login, no cloud sync, and no data leaves your browser. We do not store your dates, your budgets, or your existential dread about deadlines. The entire thing runs in the page. If you close the tab, we will never know what you were calculating. We prefer it that way.

What it does

• Duration: pick two dates and get the number of days, plus a breakdown in years, months, weeks, and workdays.
• Add/Subtract: start on one date and roll forward or backward by days, weeks, months, or years.
• Workdays: count business days between dates, with an optional list of holidays to skip.
• Ad budget: optionally split a budget across the calculated duration to see a per-day spend. Handy if you are the kind of person who plans campaigns in spreadsheets.

How it works

All calculations happen in your browser using date-fns. We do not send anything to a server because there is no server. Your browser does the math, your browser keeps the theme preference, and your browser forgets everything the moment you leave.

The design is intentionally sparse: a muted palette, thin borders, and a single accent color used sparingly. It is part of the Scrapyard Labs family, which means it looks related to colorba.se, diffba.se, layoutba.se, and paceba.se. Same questionable taste, different utility.

Why it exists

Because most date calculators feel like they were designed by accountants in 2004, and because we believe small tools can be opinionated. dateba.se does not try to sync with your calendar, import your holidays, or sell you a premium tier. It just counts days, quietly, without asking for your email.
